Our featured medieval romance novel for this week’s Medieval Romance Monday is The Lady and the Falconer by medieval romance author Laurel O’Donnell.

Author Laurel O’Donnell shares this about the book’s creation:

I’ve always thought falcons were magnificent animals, strong and elegant.  When I wrote The Lady and the Falconer, I thought it would be interesting if the bird had a personality of its own.  It plays a pretty big role in the plot, in that the falcon accompanies the hero, Logan, on his quest and makes his will known.  In this respect, the falcon, who is unnamed in the entire novel, is a character in its own right.  When you read The Lady and the Falconer, see if you don’t agree with me.
